The promise of open source ecosystems to solve the world’s biggest technical challenges can only be achieved when diverse community members are able to effectively collaborate, find win-wins, and drive progress through consensus on a shared vision.

While numerous studies show that teams with diversity of thought, style, and background drive superior results, understanding HOW to skillfully leverage that diversity is hard.

Add to that varied member interests, unclear power structures, and different personalities—and the technical challenges can seem easy to navigate by comparison.

This presentation will demystify the process of building trust and collaboration by providing an actionable framework that attendees can immediately apply within their open source teams.

Participants also will gain an understanding of the four main brain systems that drive diversity of thought and style, and more importantly, learn tools to practically apply this information so they can communicate more effectively, bring out the diverse talents of team members, and avoid common speed bumps that can slow down the progress of complex project teams.
